Just another day, and a chance to make a name for himself as a duelist. Malik was a shy kid, with a calm nature that most people did not see as being very bold, and usually he was taken for granted. Why? What reason could the other duelists hold something against him for? Malik was a good person! But his determination was his desire to change himself--from being the average, to the elite, and nothing was going to stop him from reaching his dreams.
His dreams. That was an awkward subject to get one started on. The boy was a native to his homeland of Egypt, and a true jackal of the sand. But why was he having such epic visions? It wasn't the usual thing that he was sure of, and it was often puzzling for him to think about. Weird. Strange. It wasn't something normal--but he was driven to find out the answers.
Malik was currently sitting on a bed in Room #1, a small area in the Slifer Red dorms, just looking down at his cards in hand. Of course, his favorite card was the first one he took notice of, the D.D. Ancient Jackal, and a special piece that he had obtained from his father a while ago, when he still lived in Egypt. "Ancient Jackal. You were given to me for a reason, but of that I do not know. They don't take you seriously, do they?" Malik said, with his crimson red eyes remaining focused on the single card.
The gods and goddesses must have given me this card--for a greater meaning. I wouldn't trade it for the world, either, and no one is going to take it from me. A card that is very special and dear to my abilities as a duelist, I wonder what real power this card holds? He thought soon hearing a knock on the door. Malik looked over, suddenly realizing that he wasn't alone--one of the others that he shared a room with was probably returning, and someone that he had yet to meet. Who could it be?

"Hey, anyone in here?" Makoto Takahashi asked, on the other side of the door.
